MetroWest Golf Instruction of the Week
The Initial Move
We have all heard at one time or another that the first 18 inches of the backswing is the most critical part of one's golf swing. That initial move can get the club moving on the proper path and at a pace that can carry over to great rhythm and tempo.
I have a great drill for you to work on to ensure that you make a good move off the ball. When on the practice tee, place another ball behind the ball you are hitting, approximately one and a half feet. This ball should also be two inches inside the ball-target line. Get yourself fully addressed to the ball the way you normally would, sweep the object ball away, and carry on and hit the shot.
This simple drill can help you build confidence in your backswing and allow you to hit crisp, solid shots!
