Hailing from Westchester, New York, Tom Creavy is the Director of Golf Instruction at MetroWest Golf Club in Orlando. Tom has a long line of golf ancestry dating back to his great uncle who was victorious at the 1931 PGA Championship defeating greats like Gene Sarazen in the match-play format. The final match against Denny Shute was refereed by Bobby Jones.

Tom was introduced to the game at an early age and played in the US Junior Amateur, the US Amateur, and several other events on the national level. After graduating from Stetson University in May of 1992, with a degree in Finance, Tom continued his pursuit of a career in the golf industry. Tom was the Player of the Year in the Trans-America Athletic Conference in 1992 and in 1993 defeated Tiger Woods 3 & 2 en route to a victory in the Monroe Invitational Championship in Rochester, NY.

Since turning professional in 1994, Tom has played on various tours in the United States and was affiliated with Lake Nona Golf Club in Orlando, FL and Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, NY. During his summer months, Tom worked for the Golf Digest instructional schools at the Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod. Having been a student of the game for many years, Tom decided to completely turn his attention to golf instruction in 1996. Through extensive training, Tom became a certified instructor at the David Leadbetter Academy. Tom worked as Leadbetter’s first assistant for over four years. His experience included working with tour players such as Nick Faldo, Nick Price, and Ernie Els.

In September of 2000, Tom began conducting his own Orlando golf schools, and corporate outings. Upon leaving the Leadbetter Academy, Tom began working as Se Ri Pak’s full time coach. Since working together, Se Ri has won 18 LPGA events, including three LPGA major championships. Se Ri’s most recent victory was the 2010 Bell Micro Championship. She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in November 2007. Tom has also been coaching up and coming star Amy Yang, a 22 year old LPGA player. Amy has finished in the Top 5 in the 2010 US Open & British Open. Several other PGA and LPGA Tour winners, as well as some of the nation’s top collegiate and amateur players, seek Tom’s advice. One and two-day corporate events have been part of Tom’s full schedule over the past ten years. As the Director of Instruction at MetroWest Golf Club, Tom’s programs include lessons on the full swing, short game, and consultation on golf course management. Tom has been featured several times in Golf World and was ranked in the Top 20 Teachers under the age of 40 by Golf Digest.

As the Director of Instruction at MetroWest GC, Tom enjoys instructing players of all abilities and has developed one of the best Orlando golf schools. Tom has been a resident of Orlando since graduating from Stetson University. He is very involved with the Orlando community and is married Leigh Anne Hardin, a former Duke University All-American.
